Banana Bread`

Ingredients & Directions


1 c Sugar
1 ts Vanilla
8 tb Butter Or Margarine
2 Egg — well-beaten
1 ts Baking Soda
1 tb Boiling Water
3 c All-Purpose Flour
1 ts Baking Powder
1/2 ts Salt
1/3 c Orange Juice
1 c Chopped Nuts
1 c Chopped Raisins Or Currants
2 lg (3 Sm) Bananas — mashed
1 tb Orange And Lemon Rind —
Grated

Cream the sugar, vanilla, and butter together. Combine the eggs and
baking soda with the boiling water. Mix into the sugar mixture. Sift
together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir, alternating with
the orange juice, into the sugar mixture. Add the nuts, raisins,
bananas and rinds. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 F for
45-50 mns.
